The Best Bang for your Buck HANDS – DOWN!,
Hey, this is martin_timothy and who ever wrote those negative reviews is CLEARLY working for the competition!
I’ve been supplementing with protien powders since 1995 when the Weider 15lbs bucket of CHALK was hot, we had to mix nesquick or strawberries and bananas in a blender choke that old stuff down down! The 100% Whey at COSTCO is the ONLY 6lbs bag under $40 with 80 servings that actually mixes smoothe in a hand shaker AND tastes as smooth as chocolate milk (or vanilla malt, or strawberry shake) – GET IT, AND USE IT DAILY! Yes, Syntha-6 and ON Gold Standard taste just as good or a little better depending on ones taste – but costs about twice as much per serving! I have earned 3 first place titles out of seven competitons in natural bodybuilding and can honsestly say Cytosport products have contributed to my top class physique! I have logged in over 190 work outs on-line, so I back that claim up any day of the week right here (…)~semper fi~

|Haters gonna hate…,
So like most of the people here, I bought my Muscle Milk at Costco. I’m a pretty avid protein consumer (Optimum Nutrition, Champion Nutrition, BSN, Muscle Milk, Body Fortress, heck I’ve even tried the GNC overly priced store brands). That being said, this is a really good product. I got the big bag for $36, not bad for nearly eighty servings. That’s right, EIGHTY SERVINGS. A 2-month supply of protein for 36 bucks. To calculate, that’s less than 50 cents per serving; this stuff is cheaper than a can of Coke!
It’s got all the stuff I look for in a good protein powder:
Whey protein (duh)
low carbs
low total/saturated fat
the correct amount of protein per serving (27 is just right with milk; the body absorbs around 30-40 g protein at a time)
low sugar
BCAA’s (to help the body absorb the protein and recover after workouts)
For the taste: Those of you who know anything about protein powders know that Muscle Milk tends to be one of the better-tasting brands out there. This stuff is no different. The taste is good, and obviously better with milk. I exclusively get chocolate, no matter what brand I’m buying from. It’s just a safe bet to get chocolate. And while we’re on the subject, serious athletes don’t even care about taste! Let me repeat that for you: Serious athletes don’t care about the taste. If you want a healthy body, you won’t go eating cheeseburgers and pizza all day (even though they are delicious). You’ll eat healthy food, hopefully the best-tasting healthy food you can find. It’s no different with protein powder. You get the best stuff you can, so you look the best you can. I think this protein’s good.
I give it 4 stars, because the price is better at Costco than the Amazon price, and it isn’t a “miracle shake” that somehow tastes like Nesquik without having a ridiculous amount of sugar. Give me that shake, and it would be perfect.
